Best wedding dates, month by month

A calendar-first answer to "when should we get married?" Each month is scored day by day across seven calendar traditions, so you can shortlist ceremony dates before the venue decides for you.

How to use this page

A wedding date has to survive three filters: the venue has the day, the people can be there, and the older calendars have nothing against it. This page handles the third filter properly — including the rule most English-language sites skip: a day that is lucky for everyone else can still clash with your birth-year sign.

The clash rule (冲煞) — the part that makes a date yours

In the Chinese almanac, every day "clashes" (冲) one of the twelve animals. Anyone whose birth-year sign is the clashed animal traditionally steps back from major commitments that day. It is the single most-used personalization rule in Chinese date selection, and it is why the same calendar gives different answers to different couples. Pick your sign above — days that clash with it drop out of the list.

What the score already weighs

Each candidate day is read by all seven traditions on this site — Western astrology, the Chinese almanac (宜嫁娶 register), Vedic muhurta logic, numerology, the Mayan Tzolkin, the moon, and tarot — weighted toward the ceremony traditions. The listed days are where those reads agree, not where one system shouts alone.

What a favorable date does not do

It does not book the venue, convince the families, or predict the marriage. Venue contracts, budgets, weather, and the two of you outrank every calendar on this page. Use the shortlist to narrow dates you could genuinely host — then let the practical planning choose.

How do I check my Chinese zodiac sign?

Your sign is the animal of your birth year in the Chinese calendar (it shifts at Chinese New Year, so January–February births often fall in the previous year). The BaZi calculator on this site derives it exactly from your full birth date.

Should both partners avoid their clash days?

Traditionally yes — the day should clash with neither partner's sign. Enter one sign at a time and keep only the days that survive both checks. Some families also check the parents hosting the ceremony.

Why do some months have many favorable days and others few?

The almanac's 嫁娶 register and the other traditions do not distribute evenly — ceremony-friendly days cluster around certain lunar months. A thin month is a real signal, not a glitch; couples flexible on month usually gain more than couples flexible on day.

Is a clash day unsafe for everything?

No. The clash applies to major commitments for the clashed sign — signing, marrying, moving. The same day can be ordinary or even favorable for everyone else, and practical planning always outranks the calendar.
