Hidden Stems (地支藏干)

Hidden Stems (藏干) are the Heavenly Stems concealed within each Earthly Branch. While a branch shows its surface energy, its hidden stems reveal deeper, latent influences.

For example, the branch 午 (Wu/Horse) contains the hidden stems 丁 (Ding-Fire) and 己 (Ji-Earth). These hidden stems can form Ten-God relationships with your Day Master and activate when triggered by annual or decade cycles.

Hidden stems are why two people born on the same day can have very different charts — the hidden content of their branches interacts differently with the rest of the pillars.
