The Day Master (日主)

The Day Master (日主) is the Heavenly Stem of your Day Pillar — it is the core of your BaZi chart and represents "you." Everything else in the chart is interpreted in relation to it.

Your Day Master's element defines your essential nature:

• Wood Day Master: principled, growth-oriented, steadfast.
• Fire Day Master: passionate, charismatic, quick-thinking.
• Earth Day Master: reliable, nurturing, steady.
• Metal Day Master: disciplined, righteous, sharp.
• Water Day Master: adaptable, deep, communicative.

The Day Master's strength (旺衰) — whether it is supported or drained by the surrounding elements — is the first thing a BaZi reader assesses.
